The five rice dishes on the menu, one by one
La Piratería has five rice dishes on the menu and every one of them is served for two. That changes how you read the price: what shows as 32 euros on the menu is really 16 each.
The five, from cheapest up
- Seasonal vegetables, 27 euros. The cheapest, and the only one without meat or fish.
- Chicken, 31 euros. The simplest, and the one that usually works at tables with children.
- Seafood, 32 euros. It contains molluscs, crustaceans and fish.
- Black rice, 32 euros. With molluscs, crustaceans and egg.
- Iberian pork secreto, 34 euros. This is the one the house highlights on its own menu.
What to know if there are allergies
All five rice dishes contain celery and sulphites, without exception. Beyond that, the ones from the sea add molluscs and crustaceans, and the black rice also adds egg.
The kitchen shares fryers and surfaces, so the complete absence of traces cannot be guaranteed. If there is an allergy at the table, the practical thing is to say so when booking and to mention it again when ordering.
How to choose
If it is your first time, the Iberian pork secreto is the safe bet: it is the one the restaurant marks on the menu and the one that comes up most in the reviews. If what you want is the sea, the black rice has more character than the seafood one. And if someone at the table eats neither meat nor fish, the vegetable one solves it without forcing anybody to order separately.
